Website Privacy Policy

Our privacy policy template is downloadable in Word format so that you can edit to suit your requirements. The template is designed for use on UK based websites and is suitable for ecommerce and non ecommerce websites. The template can also be used for blogs and forums. The template can be used on overseas websites by adjusting the “Choice of Law” clause so that it refers to the laws of the country in which the website is based. Our privacy policy is provided free of charge on the condition that you agree to keep the link in the footer of the document as an acknowledgement of the source of the document. The template is easily editable. All elements of the document that require you to add information or amend the template are surrounded by square brackets ([ ]). These brackets should be deleted once you have completed your amendments so that you have a nice looking document. All websites should include a privacy policy statement. If you have an ecommerce site or collect data from visitors in any way then it is a legal requirement under the Data Protection Act 1988 and the Distance Selling Regulations 2000 that you have a privacy policy on the website.
